![]() Using a vibrating bed alarm like the "Sonic Bomb" would be a great alternative as well. So how do I wake up? My bedroom is completely blacked out, and my Phillips Hue lights go through a 20 minute slow "sunrise." When my iPhone alarm goes off, it stops the YouTube white noise and starts playing my wake-up song. I play the YouTube white noise video from my iPhone, which is on the charger. The speaker is an Anker Soundcore Motion+ Bluetooth Speaker, and I just plug it in so the battery doesn't run down. With this combo, it would take a flash bang in my bedroom to wake me up. ![]() I'd guess it's at least 3+ times louder than a Marpac Dohm!! By itself, the volume would be obnoxious, but when I put earplugs in, it reduces the noise to a hum. Using a speaker greatly amplifies the volume. It’s compact, easy to use and offers 20 distinct but crystal clear white, pink, and brown noise and fan noise options to choose from. My ultimate solution was to use earplugs PLUS a white noise recording on YouTube played through a speaker on my nightstand. The bottom three (Dreamegg D11, LectroFan Evo, Yogasleep Travel Mini) play different selections of white noise, fan, and nature sounds. The ‘LectroFan Classic white noise machine is often at the top of the list of best white noise machines and for good reason. Intermittent noises would get through and wake me up, and often I wasn't even sure why I awoke. I tried a Marpac Dohm Classic white noise machine as well as a loud fan, but found that neither were loud enough, even when combined with earplugs. ![]() I sleep during the day, 7 days a week, so the occasional lawn crews, maintenance crews, construction crews, etc at my apartment complex are annoying.
