Ghost Town wasn’t actually intended to be a brewing operation - at first. It took a few years to get the taproom open to the public - Poulos and Korenstein had been brewing on other breweries’ systems - but now, locals can visit for pours of popular IPAs and lagers as well as a few curveball menu items, like roggenbiers and coffee milk stouts. Among them is Camino Brewing, which opened last April after owners Nathan Poulos and Allen Korenstein completed a formative 1,900-mile cycling trip along the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain. San Jose’s brewery scene hasn’t exploded quite as much as some other Bay Area cities, but now its downtown area is finally beginning to see exciting new prospects.
